Tasmanian House of Assembly Elections-20 March 2010
Tasmanian electors residing or visiting overseas are advised that a general election for the Tasmanian House of Assembly will be held on Saturday 20 March 2010. Information about the elections can be found on the Tasmanian Electoral Commission’s website at www.tec.tas.gov.au
Please note that there will be no voting facilities at the Australian High Commission or Australian Consulate General in New Zealand

Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Graduate program - 15 February 2010
DFAT needs talented and resourceful graduates to develop and implement policies that advance Australia's interests.
The graduate program allows you to develop and expand your knowledge in a broad range of areas — from international security and strategic issues to international economic and financial cooperation, trade negotiations, international law and public affairs.
Applications for our 2011 graduate programs will open 22 February 2010 and close 22 March 2010. Late applications will not be accepted. Details on how to apply will be available in February.

The Report of the International Commission on Nuclear Non-proliferation and Disarmament - December 2009
“Eliminating Nuclear Threats: A Practical Agenda for Global Policymakers”, was presented on 15 December in Tokyo to the Prime Ministers of Australia and Japan, their excellencies Kevin Rudd and Yukio Hatoyama, by the Commission Co-Chairs, former foreign ministers Gareth Evans and Yoriko Kawaguchi.

Joint Cabinet Meeting - August 2009
The first ever Australia-New Zealand joint Cabinet meeting was held in Sydney on 21st August. This historic meeting involved fourteen Cabinet ministers and was co-chaired by Prime Minister, the Hon Kevin Rudd, and Prime Minister, the Hon John Key. Earlier the two prime ministers held their fourth bilateral meeting in Canberra during Mr Key’s official visit to Australia.
